FAQ – PBG 2026 Qualifications

When do registrations open?

  • Individuals: from September 14, 2025 (4 p.m.) to October 12, 2025 (11:59 p.m.).
  • Teams (HH/FF): from September 14, 2025 (4 p.m.) to November 16, 2025 (11:59 p.m.).

What are the qualification dates?

  • Individuals: October 6–26, 2025.
  • Teams: November 10–30, 2025.

How many WODs will there be?

  • Individuals: 3 WODs (revealed on Mondays, October 6, 13, and 20).
  • Teams: 3 WODs (revealed on Mondays, November 10, 17, and 24).

Do I have to submit a video for each WOD?

The video is not required to appear in the rankings, but it is required if you want to qualify for the Main Event in April 2026.

Can I redo a WOD multiple times?

Yes. You can try as many times as you want. You just need to submit your best score (and the associated video, if you’re aiming to qualify) before the submission deadline.

How do I submit my scores and videos?

All submissions must be made via Competition Corner before Sunday (11:59 p.m.) following the announcement of the WOD. The video is a link to the platform you will be using (YouTube, WodProof, Wetime).

What if my timer isn’t visible in the video?

Without a clear timer, your video may be rejected. Make sure it is visible from the beginning to the end of the WOD. (On the screen or on the app used to film your WOD)

Can I participate both individually and in a team?

Yes. You can try to qualify individually and as part of a team.
If you qualify in both, you are free to choose before the Main Event registration deadline.

Please note: to register in multiple categories as an INDIVIDUAL or TEAM, you must create another account with a different email address.

Can I register in multiple level categories?

Yes, when you register, you are free to choose one or more categories in which you wish to compete (Elite/RX or Inter/Scaled, and possibly Masters depending on your age).

Your performance during the qualifiers will then determine the division(s) in which you will ultimately qualify for the Main Event. You will then be free to choose the category for the Main Event before the registration deadline.

Please note: to register in multiple categories as an INDIVIDUAL or TEAM, you must create another account with a different email address.

Can I use the same video and score for all the categories I’m registered in?

Yes, provided that the video complies with the standards for the category in question.

Specifically:

  • If the movements are identical and correctly performed, you can submit the same video in several categories.
  • Regarding weights: if the video shows a heavier weight than that required in the WOD for the category in question, it will be accepted. However, if the weight is lower, the video will not be validated.

Please note: even if you use the same video, you must submit it separately in each category on Competition Corner. A single upload is not sufficient.

I can’t perform certain movements, or the weight is too heavy for me. Can I “scale” the WOD?

No. Qualifying WODs must be performed exactly as prescribed for the category in which you are registered.

Any modification of movements or weights (scaling) will result in the score being invalidated.
If you think a weight or movement may be too difficult, we advise you to choose the category that best suits your level when you register.

How are the videos judged?

Our team of judges checks the movement standards, repetitions, and video compliance (angle, timer, continuity, etc.). The provisional ranking may therefore change after verification.

What happens if I’m not among the directly qualified athletes?

  • You may be selected if an athlete or team withdraws.
  • Vacant spots are filled in order of ranking.

Is there an additional cost after the qualifications?

Yes, the Main Event registration fees are separate from the qualifiers. They must be paid before the deadline communicated to confirm your participation if you qualify.

What tools can I use to film?

You can use WODPROOF, WETIME, YouTube, Vimeo, etc., but the physical timer must always be visible and legible.

Do I need a judge to validate my WOD?

It is not mandatory but highly recommended to help you make as few mistakes as possible.

How do I choose my category?

When you register, you must choose your starting category:

  • Elite / RX
  • Intermediate / Scaled
  • Masters M/W (depending on your age).

During the qualifiers, all athletes in the same initial category are grouped together in an overall ranking.
This ranking will determine your final division for the Main Event, so that you compete against opponents of a similar level.
This means that everyone has the chance to aim for the highest level based on their performance in the qualifiers.

Example: an athlete registered in Elite/RX who finishes 11th in the qualifiers will qualify directly in RX for the Main Event.

For the Masters M/W categories, there is no redistribution by division: only the best in each age category will earn their place in the Main Event.

If categories are grouped (Elite/RX or Inter/Scaled), does that mean the qualification WODs will follow the standards of the higher category?

No! The qualifying WODs are designed to be achievable by all athletes registered in their category, regardless of the category chosen.
The goal is to allow everyone to participate and compete against each other. The performances achieved during the qualifiers will then be used to divide the athletes into the division that best corresponds to their level during the Main Event.

For the Masters categories, only the best in each age group will directly qualify for the Main Event.

I don’t live in Polynesia, can I still take part in the qualifications?

Of course! The qualifiers are 100% online. So you can participate from anywhere in the world, as long as you meet the standards and submit your scores/videos to Competition Corner by the deadline. Be mindful of the time difference!

I qualified and registered for the Main Event, but I can’t attend after all. What should I do?

Individual
If you are unable to participate, your place will be offered directly to the next athlete in the ranking (repechage). You cannot be replaced. Registration fees are non-refundable, unless you purchased Enhanced Refund Protection when you registered on Competition Corner (subject to the terms and conditions of the insurance policy).

Teams (HH/FF)
The organization allows only one athlete to be replaced in the team, but not both.
The remaining partner must find a replacement and settle the registration fee directly with him/her.
The organization does not manage the financial transfer between the two athletes.

If a team decides to cancel its participation entirely, the place will be offered to the next team in the ranking (repechage). In this case, registration fees already paid will not be refunded, unless the team has subscribed to “Enhanced Refund Protection” when registering on Competition Corner (according to the insurance conditions).

Once my qualification is confirmed, what happens next?

You will receive:

  • your official invitation to the Main Event,
  • instructions on how to finalize your registration and pay the participation fee,
  • all practical information (location, dates, times, briefing, etc.).

Can I register in a Team with a partner who isn’t in the same box, on the same island, or even in the same country?

Yes. No problem. You can form a team regardless of your location, as long as you comply with the standards and submit your scores/videos correctly.

What happens if my category is canceled?

If a category does not reach the minimum number of participants, the organization reserves the right to cancel it or combine certain categories.
In this case, you will be notified and you will be able to:

  • switch to an equivalent category if possible
  • or receive a refund of your registration fees.

How can I guarantee my registration for the qualifications?

By registering via Competition Corner before the deadline and paying your registration fee.
Without validated payment, your registration is not confirmed.
